Wonderfood Museum

Overview

The Penang Wonderfood Museum features extravagant exhibits of Malaysian cuisine that offer a quirky, eccentric, and in-depth look at the city's distinctive culinary culture. Three galleries—Info Zone, Wow Zone, and Educational Zone—make up the museum, which is housed in a colonial structure from the 1940s in Georgetown. Using Japanese food reproduction techniques, Sean Lao, the museum's owner, creates all of the incredibly lifelike models by hand. More than 100 displays of regional cuisine, from street food to traditional dishes, are on display at the museum in an engaging and realistic manner. Learn about the ghosts of many cultures throughout the day. Unlike other haunted houses, Cool Ghost Museum is unique. The displays are organized into many parts, each of which highlights a distinct facet of Penang's culinary culture. For example, one section lists the typical Penang ingredients and spices, and another section shows the different tools and equipment required to make and serve the food. Along with the recipes and cooking methods used to prepare each meal, visitors may also learn about its cultural significance and history.
